Advisor Ganai emphasizes on improving quality of education 

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 08: The Advisor to Governor, Khurshid A Ganai today emphasized on improving quality of education and capacity building among staff besides induction of new courses to make students competition worthy.

He said this while addressing a large gathering comprising of students and college staff during a prize distribution function of Second Sports Festival organized by cluster University and conducted by Government College for Women M A Road Srinagar at Women’s College M A Road here.

Ganai who was Chief Guest on the occasion said that the colleges here particularly Women’s College M A Road has played stellar role in education among women and poorer sections thus empowering girls besides improving the literacy rate which otherwise was dismally low a few decades earlier and has this way set examples emulated by all.

Assuring the heads of higher educational institution of possible help from government, the Advisor said that the government is keen and committed to support higher education in the State to improve quality of education.

He said, “I assure the principals of the educational institutions present here that they government is ever ready to support the institutions to improve quality of teaching and learning, which will in turn help in improving learning out comes”.

Stressing girl students to strive and carve niche for themselves he told them that there are no heights that girls cannot scale and the future is theirs and they will have to play vital role in bringing peace in the state.

“Study hard, concentrate on studies, try and develop other competencies and not rest till you achieve your goal,” Ganai advised the students.

Later the Advisor distributed trophies and medallions among winners and runner-ups of games played by male and female teams during the ongoing tournaments.

The other guests who were present on the occasion included Vice Chancellor Cluster University Prof. Sheikh Javed, Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Deans’ and Principals of constituent colleges
