Srinagar, Dec 29: President Employee’s joint Action committee, Chairman JKTF Ab Qayoom Wani Saturday hailed the efforts of State Govt, especially Department of Education to establish coaching centers for students studying in Govt Schools by providing coaching facilities
“Govt has not only created an atmosphere of teaching and learning during winter vacations but the parents of these students have felt a sigh of relief by relieving them of paying huge amount as tuition fee in private coaching centres,” wani said in a statement issued here.
Wani has urged the authorities to make heating arrangement in Govt schools where these coaching centers have been established so that students and teachers may not face any difficulty.
“Wani expressed serious concern that the teachers engaged for these coaching centres are being deprived from earned leave benefit which is their right and the Deptt of Education should devise such a mechanism so that Teachers may not be constrained to move round the offices to get this issue resolved,” statement quoted him as having said so.
While Wani lauded the efforts of Education Department for providing coaching fascalities to students during winter vacations, he has expressed serious concern over the non-availability of coaching centers in far flung and hilly areas of the valley where students are not in a position to reach coaching centers established by Govt
Most of the students of these areas belong to poor families and they have no access to reach to these places. Due to poverty such students cannot go outside their home to other places for coaching neither can they reach to coaching centres already fixed at particular places due to heavy snow fall in these areas or due to walking many kilometers through hilly areas and dense forests where there is always a threat of wild animals,” he said.
Wani has appealed the teaching fraternity residing in these localities to open coaching centres on volunteer basis and provide coaching to these students during winter vacations.
“This will not only help these students to complete their syllabus but teachers will do a great work for society and will surely get its reward by Almighty for helping poor students in difficult areas,” he said.
Wani hoped that Teachers belonging to these far flung areas will come forward and help these poor students in providing Education so that the poor students may not feel isolated. (RNA)
