Srinagar, Dec 29: Due to the extreme weather conditions prevailing in the state, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) and Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) has cancelled all the leaves of its employees and have been directed to immediately resume their duties.
A circular issued here on Saturday has directed all the Heads of the departments of the two departments to cancel all the leaves except that of those on pilgrimage or medical leave, by further stressing that no leave shall be sanctioned till the water scarcity, that has emerged out extreme weather, is not over.
“Due to extreme cold climate prevalent in the estate which has resulted in the scarcity of drinking water in Kashmir valley and winter zones of Jammu division, it is impressed upon all the heads of department under the admin control of PHE and I &FC department that all the leaves sanctioned whatsoever, other than pilgrimage/ medical, are hereby cancelled with immediate effect. All such officer/officials, who have proceeded on leave are hereby directed to immediately to resume their duties, otherwise strict necessary action shall be taken against them in terms of service conduct rule,” the circular number: 14 –PHE/I&FC of 2018 reads.
“It is further impressed upon the HODs that they shall not sanction any kind of leave, whatsoever in the favors of officers/officials of the department, without prior approval of admin department till water scarcity is over,” it adds.(RNA)
