Bhaderwah, December 05: Congress party on Wednesday claimed victory on majority of seats in the Panchayat elections held this week in Bhaderwah constituency of Doda district.
In a high level meeting held at Bhaderwah, Congress district president Sheikh Mujeeb Ali claimed victory of Congress backed Sarpanchs and Panchs in Panchayat elections and described it as ‘victory of poor people’.
Sheikh Mujeeb Ali claimed that more than 80% candidates elected were those having “leaning” towards the Congress and are workers of party and this is a reason they organised sammelans cum celebration of these elected representatives.
“Thanks to the leadership of Rahul Gandhi as well as Gulam Nabi Azad, the Congress has registered its victory on 80 per cent Panchayats in Bhaderwah and Doda constituency,” he said.
He told KNO that people have put their trust in them. “BJP-PDP government had failed to resolve the problems being faced by rural population. We will work to improve this scenario,” he said. He added Congress is ready to fight assembly elections in Bhaderwah constituency.(KNO)
