Four players of South Kashmir Participate 2nd open International championship in Amritsar, Punjab

Anantnag, Dec 27: Four players from south Kashmir, including a girl, are set to participate in the 2nd Open International championship 2018 in Amritsar, Punjab. The players are Wani Faraz, Alag Shafi, Kamran Amin and Rayees Ahmad.

Alag is the first girl, who will represent south Kashmir, at an international Taekwondo event.

All the kids have been sponsored by District Administration and the president JKAUMA south Block .

The players were flagged off by DC Anantnag Younus Malik from Dakbanglow Anantnag at 1000 hrs. Mr Malik lauded the selected players and wished them luck for the competition.

“I’m really impressed that our youth are playing in international event. We will provide every possible support to players so that they can reach to their potential,” he said.

Talking to the Coach of the four players, ‘Mr. Aaqib Majeed’,”I am only trying to bring a concept of becoming players in the youth, our youth here only play sports for Sports category, To be a true sportsperson is a different thing.

These kids had to participate for free on a international platform I hope they make us proud and in future be inspiration for others”

Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Rather, The President of JKAUMA South Block said he was thankful to the District Adminstration of Anantnag and Kulgam and also to the District Youth Services and Sports Department of Anantnag and Kulgam for their support to the club.
