ML condemns arrest spree in State

Srinagar, December 08: Muslim League on Saturday condemned the arrest spree in nook and corner of state and said that it is cowardice act of puppet regime that innocent people are being harassed on one pretext or the other.

Referring to reports of detentions, Muslim League spokesman Mohammad Saad in a statement issued to KNO said that even innocent civilians irrespective of their age are being arrested.

Commenting over the detention of a civilian, Nayem Ahmad Mir (Iqbal Abad Bemina) spokesman said that he is an innocent civilian, Saad said that during night raids police harassed, thrashed his ailing and elderly parents and ransacked property.

Condemning night raids and unjustified arrests, spokesman said that police and forces have created a sense of insecurity among peaceful and innocent youth. Mohammad Saad while lashing authorities for their ‘highhandedness’, said that from nook and corner, the youth are being chased and arrested and this has created panic among common people.

Asking state administration to halt its ‘arbitrary measures’ against youth, he said that despite detentions, harassment and ransacking properties and detaining innocent youth, people will resist this with their firm conviction.

Demanding immediate release of Nayem Ahmad Mir, spokesman asked authorities for halting their repressive measures against innocent youth.

Commenting over the heartless approach of regime, Saad said that they should shun their hypocritical behavior as they stand exposed for their anti-people approach.(KNO)
