Bandipora, Jan 01: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Sheikh Waseem Bari who is also Party’s district President for Bandipora has allegedly threatened the employees of Agriculture department.
The employees while talking to KNS correspondent alleged that BJP leader used “abusive and vulgar language” and also threatened to kill them, on being asked to vacate the departmental building as the department was fencing its boundaries.
However, the BJP leader as per the employee Bashir Ahmad Malik didn’t allow them and vandalized the departmental property.
Soon after the incident, scores of Employees of Agriculture department protested against the threatening of employees and behavior of BJP leader.
The protesting employees raised slogans, like “we want Justice”, vacate our office’, demanded strict action against him.
Sub Divisional Officer Agriculture department Showkat Ahmad Samoon while talking with KNS said that, on 24th September, DC Bandipora issued circular that, “we need accommodation till the completion of Panchayat elections.”
He said that they followed that order and provided the departmental building to political leaders, since then two months have passed, but the BJP leader is yet to vacate the building.
However, the leader has threatened the employees to kill.
Samoon said that they are suffering a lot and are operating four offices in a single fabricated room. “Our official record is not safe and we appeal Govt and administration to return back our office building, so that we can work smoothly,” he said.
“We have filed a complaint against BJP leader in Police station Bandipora in this regard,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Waseem refuted the allegations of the employees, termiong it as as ‘baseless and concocted’.
He said the building was provided by district administration during Panchayat election for his security purpose.
When contacted Tehsildar Bandipora, Rauf Ahmad said that, the leader has illegally occupied the office.
“We provided accommodation to the candidates for election purpose during whicvh it was informed to the candidates that accommodation is purely for election purpose and as soon as elections will culminate, they have to leave the buildings,” he said.
“We visited there yesterday along with Nodal Officer and BDO Bandipora in order to handover the building to the Agriculture Department in my presence being an Executive Magistrate, but the leader clamored and created disturbance there and used unparliamentarily language against officials,” he said.
