Doda, January 25: Five leopard strays into Doda village, kills 10 sheep last night.
Atleast 5 leopards reportedly attacked a herd of sheep killing all 10 sheeps in hamlet of village Nalwa at Ghat block in Doda district which is just 4 kms from Doda.
A leopard strayed into a village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday night gutted ten sheep.
The sheep belonged to Bimla Devi. Fear gripped in the village after this incident. Locals alleged that the wildlife Department authorities were being negligent despite being informed several times about the presence of leopards in the area. Before few months ago one child was also died when leopard attacked him and resulting into death; villager said.
Sheeps belongs to family demanded compensation from Government as they belongs to very poor family and no source of income after death of Bimla Devi husband.
