Gandoh,14 Jan: National Health Mission (NHM) Employees’ Association today held a massive protest in support of their demands at Gandoh.The protest led by NHM president Mushtaq Ahmed. A large number of employees of the NHM assembled in CHC Gandoh today morning they raised slogan and shouting against the State Government. They alleged that the state government totally failed in all fronts and failed to regulate of NHM employees.
Mushtaq Ahmed said that the aim of holding this protest and 2-day strike is to inform the State Govt as well as concerned authorities about the genuine grievances of NHM Employees which it has not conceded so far forcing us to go for protest and strikes.
“We are demanding regularisation since 2005, as huge number of seats are vacant in the department and all of us are engaged on contractual basis. During the protest at Jammu on Dec 2017, we were assured about fulfilment of all over demands by the government very soon but nothing happened so far,” Shanwaz said.
The protesters have threatened to intensify the strike if their demands are not considered by the government. Their demands include regularisation of services,filling up of vacancies and other government benefits.
Those who joined the protest included Shanwaz Ahmed,Altaf Hussain,Shafiya Begum,Rubena Begum,Vaid Parkesh and others.
