Srinagar, Jan 19: Jammu and Kashmir Pharmacy Council in collaboration with Pharmacy Council of India kick started two day workshop regarding *The Practice and Profession of Pharmacy* which shall concluded on 20th of January 2019 at Gandhi Bhawan ,University of Kashmir. The said workshop was thrown open by Chief Guest, Prof.Talat Ahmad, Hon`ble Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University and Dr.Kunzes Dolma, Director Health Services Kashmir in presence of Madam Lotika, Drug Controller, F&DO J&K the guest of honour. The Continued Medical Education Programme for registered pharmacists was conducted for the first time with all possibilities of research and surveys gained and extend in the areas of its existence. While commenting on the workshop, experts and activists were of the opinion that role of pharmacist cadre as backbone of the system shall revolutionize by way of such platforms. While analyzing the role of Jammu & Kashmir Pharmacy Council in paving ways to sensitize and educate the professionals, it came to limelight that every pharmacist can cater to the viable services of modern times with the kit of knowledge and practice. The experts conveyed a clear message that it shall be a continued process to redesign the role at the grass root levels.
Experts while deliberating on Pharmacy said that Drug Delivery System, Drug Interactions, Drug Preventions, Patient Counseling, Health Education are some of the essential components of the pharmacy practices which need such elaborated workshops in order to acknowledge latest innovations and practices of the system. Various resource persons from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences Kashmir University, medical Fraternity and Ex.Drug Controller J&K shall update the skill of knowledge of pharmacist during two days brain storming session with the latest happening in field of pharmacy. The event was co-ordinated by Mr.Mohd Younis, Assistant Drug Controller Kashmir and Mr.Zahoor Ragi, Personal Assistant to Director Health Services Kashmir who termed the workshop as successful for better health care delivery system at large. At the venue all pledged to learn and leave with all possibilities of knowledge, practices and professional abilities to serve the mankind to stand by the patient care and administration out of such workshops/CMEs to ensure that as humans and professionals our acknowledgement proves by way of serving the people at large and patient care in particular.
