Srinagar, Feb 19: Army Tuesday said that it annihilated Jaish-e-Muhammad leadership in Kashmir barely after 100 hours of lethal attack on CRPF Convoy at Lethpora in which some 49 troopers were killed.
While addressing a joint briefing of Army, police and CRPF, 15 Chinar Corps head Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon said everyone whosoever will pick up the gun will be eliminated.
“Anyone who has picked up the gun in Kashmir will be eliminated, unless they surrender,” General Officer Commanding said today, appealing mothers in Kashmir Valley to persuade their sons who have picked up guns to get back to mainstream.
“I would request all the mothers in Kashmir to please request their sons who have joined terrorism to surrender and get back to the mainstream; otherwise anyone who has picked up the gun will be killed.” Chinar Corps commander Lt Gen KS Dhillon told reporters in Srinagar.
The remarks came after three Jaish-e-Muhammed militants were killed in an operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama yesterday in which four army personnel and a policeman were also killed.
He said that the entire leadership of Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed has been eliminated from the Kashmir Valley.
He also said that the Pulwama attack was carried out by the JeM, which is based in Pakistan, with “active support of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Pakistan Army.”
Giving a stern warning to sympathisers of the militant movement in the state, he said: “Anyone who picks up a gun in Kashmir will be eliminated, unless the person surrenders.”
