Army Pays tribute to slain Soldier

Srinagar, 12 Feb:     The Army today paid a befitting tribute to Late Havildar Baljeet who made the supreme sacrifice during a Counter Terrorist operation on 12th February 2019 at Village Ratnipora of Pulwama District, wherein one militant was eliminated. In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies were also present to pay their last respects to the martyr.

            Late Havildar Baljeet, sustained bullet injuries during a fierce operation at Ratnipora village. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

            The martyr, Late Hav Baljeet, was 35 years old and had joined the Army in 2002. He belonged to Village Dinger Majra of Karnal District, Haryana and is survived by his wife, daughter and son.

            The mortal remains of the martyr were taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family of the martyr and remains committed to their dignity and well being
