Bandipora residents Protest against erratic Power Supply

Bandipora, Fab 04: Scores of residents of Pazalpora Village of north kashmiri’s bandipora District here on Monday staged protest demonstration over erratic power supply. Reports said that Residents of Pazalpora village assembled on the Bandipora-Gurez road and staged protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) for poor power supply in the area and blocked the road for hours due to which the traffic came to grinding halt.


Residents said that “we do not receive proper power supply as per schedule and frequent power cuts have become a daily routine now. There is no schedule for power cuts since Darbar shifted to Jammu; this is selective approach and is sheer injustice with us,” aggrieved residents said. Protesters alleged that there is no scheduled power supply to our area and they demanded immediate intervention of higher authorities towards the matter.

Meanwhile, the traffic jam cause inconvenience to the commuters. However, the protesters were pacified and traffic on the Bandipora-Gurez was resumed later after the intervention of Police and Power Development Department officials, who assured to resolve the problems at the earliest.
