Bandipora, Fab 08: Acting tough against the Protesting NHM Employees who are on Strike from Several days, DC Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary here on today asked them to join their duties or face termination.
DC Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said that if they don’t join back their duties with immediate effect, they will be terminated. Govt is working on demands of contractual NHM staff. No point in making patients suffer endlessly. I deeply appreciate the role played by NHM staff but cant hold public hostage when issues are under consideration. Left with no option termination notices issued. Public first, he wrote on twitter.
NHM employees are on strike for the past several days demanding regularization of their services. The strike has badly affected the healthcare in Bandipora as the SDH hospital is dependent on NHM employees due to the dearth of regular staff in the hospital.
Meanwhile NHM Employees after DC’s order, extended strike for next 72 hours. They said that due to cold response of administration towards our genuine demands of social and financial security. They said that Govt has failed to fullfil the Committeed made by the then Health Minister, we have decided to further extend Strike for 72 hours, they added.
