Leopard  tranquilized after taking shelter in Kupwara school 

Srinagar, Feb 9: Panic has gripped Drugmulla area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district after a leopard took shelter in a washroom of a school on Saturday morning.

Locals told GNS that the leopard was spotted near BEd College adjacent to My New School this morning.

The villagers rushed towards it following which the leopard took shelter in a washroom of the school.

Ghulam Mohidin, a senior official of the wildlife department said that a team of officials reached the site and rescued the leopard by tranquilized it.

He said that due to snowfall, the wild animals move towards residential areas in search of food and people should not harm them.
“We are alert and in case people find any wild animal, they should inform us,” the official added.
