Doda, February 12: Marmat tehsil in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir where some villages area also declared Model village, mountanious Marmat tehsil in Doda district lacks all basic facilities since Independence.
Marmat tehsil which is 35 kilometers away from headquarter Doda and have 45 thousands above population lacking basic facilities like Electricity, Drinking Water, Poor connectivity, poor healthcare system, poor education system, shortage of rations even Marmat tehsil is running without proper administration of tehsil level after declaration of Tehsil as Tehsil Supply Officers, Power Development Department was senctioned for Goha but due go invlment with higher authorities theu are running from out Doda while Agriculture, Horticulture, BDO, CDPO etc always remaining closed and 4th class employees open once or twice in a week.
While conservation with International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) Co-ordinator Chenab Valley Fayaz Ahmed Wani said that, Marmat area is always neglected by every government of the state on all fronts and even to fulfil the genuine long pending demands demanding Higher Secondary for Mangota, Government Degree College for Marmat and fully functional of Grid station Goha. Marmat tehsil links roads is in very worst condition even after first stage contractors) concerned department has left the incomplete work since many years. Healthcare, electricity, drinking water system is also poor even after recent snowfall disrupt the normal life and due cut off the electricity and bad road connectivity lacks of residents are suffering. Dozens of residental houses along with cow shelters completely damaged due to heavy snowfall in Marmat Tehsil and hundreds of residental houses and most of the orchards trees damaged are reported in Chanab valley in which most of them belongs to very poor family backgrounds and demanded to compensation from administration) government. Due to blockage of link road patients especially pregnant women’s are facing difficulties to reach the hospital even after a week district administration is doing nothing and very lazy to cleaning up the snow from roads. Due to shortage of Doctors and other medical staff at PHC Marmat and other areas continues strike of NHM employees have created a great problems to the livelihood that has patients from Marmat amd other hilly areas like Dessa, Kastigrah, Bharath, Dhar, Sazan, Trown, Chirallah, Kisthwar and Ramban areas that has resulted into the transportation of patients to District Hospitals on feet and its has been come to carry thier patients to reach hospitals timely for treatment.
Chenab valley districts is reeling under complete darkness without electricity last seven days as many of towers are damaged it has been never seen before disruption at this scale in power, water and other essential supplies. It is pertinent to mention here that power supplying wires are lying hanging towards the poled and none of the employees of concerned department are taking thier jobs as thier duties to restore the actual position of the wires for the earliest supply of Power. It looks our state government is invisible and poor administrative response in every field to redress problems and demands of Chenab region people.
IHRO appealed to the District Development Commissioner Doda-Kishtwar and Ramban to directed the concerned authorities of every department may kindly be directed to remain active 24 hours and clearing the snow and landslides on link roads to eradicate and migtate the arising problems and situation on the forestep.
IHRO also requested to the Governor of state Satya Pap Malik to investigate this matter properly and fund the solution of Chenab valleys residents issues and demands.
