Bhaderwah, Feb 08: Advocate Mohd Majid Malik urged the all political leaders of Chenab Valley to be united and take a lesson from Ladakh people and political leaders and civil society members and welcomed the decision of Governor to give Ladakh the status of a separate division and expressed pain over the neglect of Chenab Valley.
“The decision of giving a separate division status should have been collectively taken for Chenab valley and Pir Panchal regions too along with Ladakh if it was meant for the greater good of people as people of Chenab Valley are fighting for the same from the last many years ,’’ said Malik .
He said Ladakh is a far-flung area and already had a hill development council at a place in Leh and Kargil and now making it a separate division is a big deal and she wholeheartedly welcomes it and same formula shall be applied for Chenab Valley.
However, he wished that the same decision was taken for the other two regions as well keeping in the view the problems and area.
“The Pir Panjal and Chenab valley areas are also backward and underdeveloped with a huge population so both these areas should also be given the status of a separate division,” said Malik .He urged upon all party leaders from Chenab Valley to United and raise the issue of Chenab Valley and also made it election manifesto. He also urged upon the political workers to force their leaders for the same demand .
