House of the widowed mother of seven daughters and a son, Rehmi Begum, was damaged due to heavy snowfall in Muqam Shanoo area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
“I can’t bring myself to thinking what next, the damaged house is all that there is my eyes behold for now”, the hopelessness of Rehmi speaks.
According to sources, the rooftop of the residential house of Rehmi Begun who lost her husband a year ago was damaged due to the heavy snowfall.
Whilst no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident and all the family members were safely evacuated from the house as per locals, the poverty stricken family awaits aid to rebuild their hopes and house.
Rehmi Begum who lives with her daughters and son has menial means of repairing her house to shelter her kids and provide for them.
They have requested district administration Kupwara for financial assistance.
