Doda, March 31: Several of villages shorn of basic amenities like “Bijli, Sadak, Poor Education system since Independence.
Ramgarh, Kurmail, Kencha, Baggar and its other villages of Assar block in this mountanious district of Jammu and Kashmir are 15 km from Batote, Ramban district and 40 km from Doda headquarter decided to bycott the polls on Lok Sabha and Assembly election as we are suffering without basic amenities since ages, as these areas on the roadside of national highway Doda-Kishtwar-Batote. Ramgarh village which is famous for food restaurant where almost thousands of passangers stayed for lunch and tea break. But on the development, most of villages deprived of facilities.
Local sarpanch of the area Mohd Ashraf said that, our first priority is only for early construction of Ramgarh-Kurmail road where hundreds of residents are suffering, in emergency cases we have to reach national highway by foot carrying patients due to which many incident was happen. He said, recently govt has upgraded the doznes of school but GHS Kurmail neglected again as our students are have to go Assar or Batote for 10+2 education. He said every MLA has committed to start early construction of road but after victory we cannot see anyone even after senctioning of road.
Another villager from Kencha Mohd Alyas said that, our village is without proper electricity and all the wires are hanging on wooden poles and trees. He said Kencha village has maximum population of schedule caste and schedule tribe, and we have requested many times to concerned authorities and elected MLA since many years but no action has been taken yet and don’t want to listen the voice of poor people.
Earlier, villagers held a meeting where IHRO team included Press Secretary Chenab Valley also listen the greviences and demands of poor neglected people and Gujjar community. In the meeting, locals decided to bycott the upcoming polls till our genuine demands would not fulfilled.
