Srinagar, April 27: Anjuman Nusratul Islam (ANI) started a series of extension lectures during the current academic session. The objective is to orient students with contemporary educational issues besides regular transaction of syllabi. The first lecture in the series was presented by Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Ganaie, Director Iqbal institute of Culture and Philosophy, in the central hall of Islamia Higher secondary school, Rajouri Kadal.
The schools in government and private sectors in the vicinity were also present to attend the lecture. The session was chaired by Er. Muhammad Ibrahim Shah, General Secretary of ANI Srinagar. Haji Muhammad Altaf graced the occasion as Guest of Honor. Dr. G.Muhammad Khan, Secretary Education Islamia Higher Secondary School, Rajouri Kadal, conducted the proceedings and presented the welcome address. Prof, Mustaq Ahmad Ganaie in his lecture deliberated upon educational thought propounded by Iqbal, deliberated upon multiple dimensions of educational thought process. This included role and responsibilities of teacher, learner and societal in the process. His focus was on epistemology, values and sills to develop a comprehensive educational system leading to wisdom and finally with the truth. He stressed upon the personality development of learners in the institutions. He emphasized upon maintenance of balance spirituality and employability or a combination of tradition and modernity are main hallmarks of Iqbal’s educational thought.
The session was so impressive that a variety of questions raised by the students after the presentation was over. All these questions were responded properly by the guest faculty. At the end guest of honor, Haji Muhammad Altaf and Er. mUhammad Ibrahim shah, chairman of the session presented their observations. Mufti Gh. Rasool Samoon presented Dua.
