Srinagar, April 10: While condemning the prolonged incarceration and now shifting of party chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik to infamous Tihar Jail, Delhi by NIA during the intervening night of 8th and 9th April the acting chairman of JKLF in a statement issued from party headquarters Maqbool Manzil, has stated that jails are our second home. Terming the ongoing oppression in Kashmir valley as hegemonic and dictatorial, the acting chairman said that such tactics cannot and will never deter us and the Kashmiri nation who have rendered unflinching sacrifices for the cause of their freedom and right to self-determination.
Abdul Hameed Butt said that Indian authorities arrested Yasin Malik in wee hours of 22nd February from his residence in Maisuma, Srinagar and lodged him in a nearby Kothibagh Police Station. On 26th April while he was under police custody, the NIA raided and searched his three room slum house for more than 6 hours but could found nothing after a thorough search, he added. However, on 6th of March, Yasin Malik sb was again arbitrarily booked under PSA and was hurriedly shifted to Jammu Kot-Balwal Jail where he was kept in a solitary confinement till yesterday. While lamenting over the callous attitude of Indian authorities Butt informed that his old aged ailing mother and two sisters are stuck in Jammu from yesterday morning who were scheduled to meet Yasin Malik yesterday at noon in Kot-Balwal jail. He said that yesterday the news of his shifting to Delhi came as a surprise to them. Delhi on the foot prints of Israel, cannot suppress our will, passion and resistance, he asserted. Butt also condemned NIA’s act of getting his remand up to 22nd April.
Mr. Butt said that ironically this dictatorship is going on under the garb of so-called biggest democracy and more irony is that international community is watching all this as a mute spectator. JKLF acting chairman said that accusing JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik of terror funding or terror abetting is like spitting towards the sky and termed it as a biggest ever joke as the whole world and even the Indians know about these false claims of Indian fascist regime. JKLF after choosing the path of un-armed, non-violent and peaceful mode of struggle in 1994, has remained wedded to the decision, Butt added. Even after announcement of unilateral ceasefire more than 600 party members were martyred and numerous attempts were made to eliminate Yasin Malik. He said that JKLF is an ideology preached by the father of our nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt who spent many years in Tihar Jail, was hanged and buried there. Yasin malik himself has been to Tihar many a times, spent many years of his life there in solitary confinement cell butt has not and will never budge before Indian hegemony, asserted JKLF acting chairman, Abdul Hameed Butt.
