Srinagar, April 16: The spokesman of JKLF has in a statement issued to media from party headquarters written that the party vice chairman Saleem Haroon has expressed his deep concerns over the continued detention and handing over of the party chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik to NIA. He further stated that Mr. Malik has been kept at some unknown place by NIA for unknown reasons, which is a serious cause of concern to Kashmiris especially to his family. He said that such inhuman and frustrated acts of India are not going to yield any results for India as they are bound to fail. Yasin Malik is a brave, revolutionary and dynamic leader of Kashmiri nation who is being followed by hundreds and thousands of people for his thoughts, ideology and sacrifices, he added. Yasin Malik in pursuit to freedom of Jammu Kashmir and for the right of self-determination during the last three decades has faced the Indian brutality but has never succumbed to anybody’s dictates, Saleem Haroon asserted. He said India must read the writhing on wall that Kashmir people want nothing less than freedom and it is in the interest of India to grant them this right as soon as possible. Saleem Haroon has strongly condemned the shifting of Jamat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Fayaz, vice president of Jamiat-e-Ahlehadith Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri and other pro-freedom leaders to outside Jammu Kashmir jails and has categorically conveyed to India that such repressive and inhuman acts of her cannot deter our nation or our leadership from freedom.
While terming the ongoing election process as a drama, Saleem Haroon has appealed people to stay away from these so called elections as the international community especially United Nations in one of its resolutions has also categorically termed such election as not a substitute to right to self-determination of people of the State of Jammu Kashmir. He said that these elections are in no way in favor of freedom and thus participating in such a process has a tendency to waste the sacrifices rendered by people. Instead of shedding crocodile tears by pro-election leaders, who has been working for India as collaborators, Saleem Haroon advised them to join the freedom club and join their voices with the voices of people in favor of freedom and right to self-determination of people if they want to serve them in a positive and sincere manner.
The statement included that a two member party delegation comprising upon vice chairman Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi and zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal visited the residence of Prof. Abdul Rehman Wani and offered him condolences on the sad demise of his brother.
