Kulgam PHE employees protest: Office lockdown, seek regularisation and release of pending wages

Kulgam, 01 April: The casual labourers of Public Health Engineering department (PHE) on Monday held a protest demonstration in Kulgam demanding release of their pending wages.

Reports said that scores of protesting employees assembled here in PHE Office Kulgam and chanted slogans against the Public Health Engineering Department.

The protesters were carrying placards and alleged that the department was holding their pending wages.

District President of Kulgam PHE association, Reyaz Ahmad Shah told that from last 20 months our wages are still pending with the department.

“We want release of our long pending wages as soon as possible. We are facing financial problems due to which the studies of our children have affected.”

Due to delay in release of salary we are facing financial problems. We have been working sincerely but ironically our wages are pending since several months” the protestors said.

The protesting employees requested the Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into the matter.
