Srinagar, May 30: Senior PDP leader and former Legislator Nizamuddin Bhat has castigated administration for a coercive action against nomadic community in Aragam and Kudara villages in Bandipore.
In a statement, Bhat said forest authorities have displaced nomads with police help here by damaging and demolishing decades old Kothaas in the name of removing so called encroachment.
Bhat said using police machinery against nomads here was uncalled for and deserves to be rectified.
He appealed the Governor to ask the administration to compensate losses and retrieve the nomads their lost places used to rearing cattle for livelihood.
