Seeks justice for PO Aspirants and redressal of lack basic amenities

Asks New Delhi to intervene and stop AICTE authorities from issuing unwanted dictates over admission in Pak colleges 


Srinagar, 15 may: AIP president Er. Rasheed today called on Governor Mr. Satya Pal Malik at Raj-Bhawan and appealed him to ensure that justice is done with PO aspirants seeking adjustment in J&K bank. Er. Rasheed briefed Governor in detail about the issue and said that the issue by no means should be seen on regional basis are Jammu V/s Kashmir. He said that norms of recruitment cannot be changed once the recruitment process has started and doing so will be violation of Supreme Court ruling. Governor assured Er. Rasheed that he will look into legal and all other dimensions of the issue. Er. Rasheed briefed Governor about lack of basic amenities in the valley and said that scarcity of drinking water, electric supply, and worsening conditions of roads, lack of teachers in schools in remote areas and lack of proper health care are matters of grave concern and need immediate attention. He also urged governor to ensure that concerned officers do discharge their duties in a prompt, planned and disciplined manner, so that the genuine grievances of masses are addressed and added that Administration must ensure that officers maintain their headquarters and ensure their smooth functioning. Er. Rasheed demanded establishing of fast track court to take Bandipora incident to its logical end. Er. Rasheed also apprised Governor about lack of facilities the detainees are facing in various jails in and outside state. Governor assured Er. Rasheed that government is planning to ensure that detainees having age above seventy years are lodged in their native districts. Meanwhile Er. Rasheed has expressed deep concern and displeasure over AICTE directives on seeking admission by Kashmiri students in institutions and colleges of Pakistan administered Kashmir. Er. Rasheed said “It simply means politicizing of education and the directive is just to victimize Kashmiri students. New Delhi should have appreciated the initiative of Pak government to provide admission to Kashmiri students as it is New Delhi which has been accusing Pakistan of training Kashmiri students with arms. Central government must intervene and stop AICTE authorities from issuing such meaningless, illogical and narrow minded  dictates”
