How some official manage transfers in 2 to 3 months in excise department?

Srinagar, May 31: Some officials in state excise department are managing their transfers at will in alleged nexus with concerned authorities.

Official sources told GNS that the officials are transferred from Lakhanpur Toll Post for few months, not more than three months in most cases, and transferred back to their postings.

A look at the orders passed in last few months, six officials were shifted for two months before transferred back to their “original” place of postings.

On January 23 this year, Excise Commissioner J&K ordered the transfer of 11 inspectors and sub-inspector and on 25-01-2019, seven officials were transferred. However, most of the officials were again transferred back to their “original posting” by virtue of orders passed on 25 May this year and others. Sources said that there seems to be nexus between these officials and higher authorities, enabling them to get the postings of their choice.

“Government should conduct a probe so that it comes to fore how these officials manage their postings back within two to three months,” they said, adding, “Most of these officials have remained posted at a particular post for 80 percent of their service tenure.”
