Srinagar, May 01: Takiing a dig on mainstream political parties of Kashmir Valley National conference and People’s Democratic party for misleading the innocent people of J&K, Janta Dal United JD(U) State President G M Shaheen on Wednesday expressed serious concern over what it called the decision of the central government to not file a written response to a Public Interest Litigation filed in the Supreme Court challenging Article 35-A of the Constitution of India when both the mainstream political parties are in power.

Shaheen while addressing the press conference at party headquarters Rajbagh in Srinagar said both NC-PDP ruling parties have tasked with facilitating abrogation of special status and they are ignoring serious issue and enjoying the power who are now talking about defending Article 35-A and 370 just to befooling the innocent people of J&K for their vested interests to remain in the power.

Shaheen further said that when PDP headed by former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was heading the state of J&K, she failed to not file a written response to a Public Interest Litigation filed in the Supreme Court Challenging Article 35-A of the constitution of India.

He added that now when PDP is out of power, they are beating their chest over Article 370 and 35-A which has exposed PDP for their seriousness related to the serious matter which has been always used to remain in power by misleading the general public as far as issue is concerned.

Referring to nefarious designs of NC, Shaheen said National conference party has also working on same line who are claiming to defend Article 35-A and 370 but NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah are dancing on the same tone of PDP’s foot prints just to remain in power by misleading innocent people of the state.

He added that what happened to so called Autonomy Status of NC raised in 1996 which was thrown to Dustbin by UPA government and now they talking  about defending of Article 35-A and 370 which has not been digested in the public domain and has exposed the real face of NC leadership.

He further said that the people of J&K are ready to give befitting replies to both the mainstream political parties of Kashmir Valley in the upcoming Assembly elections. He added that people are now completely satisfied with present dispensation headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik pertaining to development and other related long pending issues and problems of the state.

Shaheen assured that JDU is committed to defend Article 370 and 35-A at any cost so that people of the state may not be misleaded by so called mainstream leadership of Valley. He added that the issue has been already taken with JDU National President Nitish Kumar who is presently Chief Minister of Bihar.
