Srinagar, May 4: The NEET test is scheduled to be held tomorrow (May 5) from 2 to 5 pm. National Testing Agency (NTA) has already set up NEET exam centres in the Valley for students. A large number of students who are scheduled to appear in the examination are in a fix due to highway ban and closure of rail service.
From past two days train service is not functional due to the killing of three militants in Shopian district. Students say they will immensely suffer if authorities didn’t resume the train service on Sunday-the day of examination.
Besides being apprehensive about the train service, the students feel they may face huge inconvenience on highway as there is a ban on civilian traffic on Udhampur-Srinagar highway on Sunday. “When Forces stop commuters on daily basis on highway, why they won’t stop us on Sunday when they have the permission to do so,” they said.
Majority of the students told news agency CNS that Forces personnel may not honor their roll number slips. “Keeping the past experience in view, we are sure of facing problems,” they said.
Pertinently, people have been suffering immense problems due to highway restrictions in on regular basis. “Don’t talk of Sunday and Wednesday, everyday traffic is stopped and commuters are forced to stop for hours,” said a group of students.
Meanwhile, authorities have allocated vehicles for the NEET students to take them to their respective centres.
