Super Strikes Beat Royal Strikers Dargam In Inaugural Match
Baramulla, June 10: The third edition of Wanigam Super League (WSL) cricket tournament was today inaugurated at Wanigam Bala area of Pattan North Kashmir’s Baramulla District.
Wanigam Cricket Association Chairman, Mr Khalid Altaf , Vice Chairman Fayaz Ah Mir along with senior cricketer Irfaq khan inaugurated the tournament on Monday at Wanigam Bala cricket ground here, in which thousands spectators enjoyed the inaugural match.
The inaugural match was played between Royal Strikers and Super Strikers Dargam.
Super Strikers won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 167 runs in 19 overs. Hilal Ahmad Parray captain of Super Strikers with 80 runs from 40 balls and Mohd Ashraf with 34 runs from 23 balls were the notable scorers for Super Strikers Dargam. For Royal Strikers , Umar Lateef took three wickets and Basit Bashir and Aashiq took two wickets each.
In reply, Royal Strikers failed to chase the target as they were bundled out for 115. Aaqib was the highest scorer with 21 runs from 22 balls. For Super Strikers Dargam Nisar took three wickets and Hilal, Nisar, Sameer took two wickets each.
Hilal Ahmad Parray was adjudged as man of the match for his all round performance.
Pertinently The auction of players for the 3rd edition of Wanigam Super League (WSL ) was held on Wednesday 5th June 2019 at the same play ground.
In The auction around 100 players were listed with each franchisee picking 16 players and Kamraan Khan was the costliest player with Rupees 2900 which was bought by team Royal Strikers owned by Shoaib Ahmed and Bashir Ahmad.
