Have respect for Hurriyat leadership but they lie to people: Governor

Neyaz Elahi

Srinagar, June 12:
Jammu Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik Wednesday said that Hurriyat leadership in Kashmir mainstream politicians never uttered truth before people. “I respect Hurriyat leadership because they have suffered a lot but unfortunately they never tell truth to people. You can’t subdue India through violence. Yes, you can talk to India with love so that we can find a solution,” Malik told reporters during an interaction with media here at SKICC Srinagar.
Malik said that Pakistan have now realized its follies though training camps still exit there. He said Pakistan is beset with so many problems and now it can’t befool the youth of Kashmir anymore. “Musharaf had realized the fact that India is a super power which can’t be booed through violence,” he said.
Malik according to news agency CNS said that the solution to Kashmir imbroglio lies in youth. “From past 50 years leaders in Kashmir lied to people and showed them dreams that couldn’t turn into reality. Mainstream politicians showed dreams to people like azadi and autonomy.,” he said.
Malik asked people of Kashmir particularly youth to understand the power of vote. “Not gun but vote is a powerful weapon through which you can elect your own honest and dedicated representative,” he said and added that Delhi too committed some mistakes that are history now.
He said that shelf life of militants is very less. “Can’t you see what happened to powerful LTTE outfit operative in Sri Lanka which is gone. Violence is not a solution to any problem. Solution lies in talks and love. I request these youth who are militants to have a dinner with him at Raj Bhavan and discuss the issue. I will support them if they motivate me,” he said and appealed them to drop the guns and come back to their families.
“It’s very unfortunate that mainstream politicians created atmosphere of corruption that kept youth aloof from vote politics.”
He said Kashmir is a paradise which even has its own flag
