Srinagar, July 24: Kashmir valley’s 20 top trade unions including Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) extended their support to Mehboob Makhdoomi’s campaign to build an international standard University in Kashmir.
These trade unions who have shown support for Uni4Kashmir campaign include Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK), Chamber of Commerce & Industries-Kashmir (CCIK), Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club (JKHC), All Traders and Transporters Joint Coordination Committee (ATTJC), Rehabilitation Alliance (RA), Batamaloo Traders Association (BTA), Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK), Kashmir Centre for Social Developmental Studies (KCSDS), Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), All Kashmir Chemists and Druggists Federation (AKCDF), Association Chamber of Commerce Industry of Kashmir (CCIK), Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers and Dealers Union (KVFGDU), Jammu and Kashmir Contractors Coordination Committee ( JKCCC), Kashmir Sanitary and Paints Association (KSPA), Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Association (KHARA), Houseboat Owners Association (HBOA), Environmental Policy Group (EPG), J&K Private School Association (JKPSA), All Kashmir Gold Dealers and Workers Association.
In a joint letter of support the trade unions said that such initiatives are the need of the hour and must be carried out with full vigour and commitment. They said that such projects require huge financial support and the crowd funding model adopted by the founder is very appreciable.
They also said that they hope this project turns to be fruitful for future generations.
