DIO hold interaction with Media persons at Pulwama

Pulwama 04, July: District Information Officer, Pulwama , Tahir Ahmad Magray today held an interactive session with members of media fraternity here today in which Journalists working with several media organizations participated.

Various issues regarding the generation of welfare fund for journalists, conducting of orientation programmes for media persons, highlighting of public issues and other problems being faced by media persons were discussed.

Speaking on the occasion, DIO appreciated the role of media in Participatory Governance process and connecting People with Government Institutions.

DIO impressed upon the participants to highlight the positive engagements of Government along with the appropriate media interventions and impact wherever necessary. He added the ethical code of conduct for media persons is a blueprint document for exhibiting professionalism.

He urged working journalists of the district for submission of monthly progress reports to DIC ,so that best reports and stories can be acknowledged and felicitated.

The DIO assured the media persons that all their genuine demands will be taken up to the concerned authorities for the redressal and sought their cooperation in highlighting various issues of public importance
