DSP Lynching case is being taken for granted by the authorities, lives of downtown youth are on stake: Asif Zargar

Srinagar, July 25:  Socio Political activist Asif Zargar here on today expressed his deep concern on the youth of downtown area of Srinagar city who have been accused for DSP lynching.

In a Statement, Aasif said that police have booked the accused in FIR 51 of 2017 for the offences 302 RPC (murder), 392 RPC (robbery), 341 RPC (wrongful restraint), 149 RPC (member of unlawful assembly), 148 RPC (rioting) RPC and section 13 Unlawful Activities Act. Prosecution has listed 84 witnesses which are yet to be proved before the honorable court.

He said that 20 youth have been booked for 3 years and they are left there with no mercy and no proper legal proceedings are carried on so as to prove them guilty.

He said their case is being taken totally for granted by the concerned authorities their lives are on stake, their careers are on stake, they are left with no opportunities. The way Jaipur High Court acquitted 3 persons of Srinagar and the way they returned to their home happily the families of these youth also want them to return happily so that they could start and live their life, he said.

Asif Zargar appealed urged the Governor Adminstration to look into the matter and deal with these imprisoned youth with mercy and justice and take up the legal proceedings so that justice and better sense could prevail.
