Bandipora, July29: Government forces on Monday morning launched a cordon and search operation Bankoot village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official told KNO that a joint teams of Army, Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF cordoned off the Bankoot area of Bandipora and launched door to door searches in the area.
“House to house searches are being conducted in the area. There are inputs about presence of militants in the area,” the official told KNO.
However, there were no immediate reports of any untoward incident.
The deployment of forces has surrounded the area and searches are going on.
A similar operation was also launched Monday morning in Pathkoot village of Bandipora, which is around 7 km from district headquarter. The Searche operation was called off after no militant was found in the village.
