Srinagar, July 17: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) “Free Yasin Malik” and “Remove Ban on JKLF”, campaign is continuing in various parts of the globe. Leaders and activists of JKLF have expedited their campaign in UK and Europe from last few days. A JKLF high level delegation yesterday held a meeting with the British foreign office (FCO) and Chairperson UK All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir (APPKG) in London. Moreover JKLF leaders and activists held a peaceful protest demonstration outside Indian high commission in Brussels Belgium in this regard. It is pertinent to mention that JKLF team has launched a minibus campaign throughout London and other cities of UK. A minibus with photographs of JKLF incarcerated chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, JKLF flags, the flags of Azad Kashmir and slogans depicting “Release Yasin Malik”, “Lift Ban from JKLF” and “Free Kashmir”, recently rallied around Lords cricket ground and other stadiums during world cup cricket semi-finals and the final. Earlier a delegation of JKLF UK zone met with a member of European parliament and apprised him on the situation in Indian held Jammu Kashmir.
Continuing with “Free Yasin Malik”, “Lift Ban from JKLF”, and “Free Kashmir” campaign, JKLF leaders, activists, well-wishers and Kashmiris living across the globe have expedited their protest rallies, sit-in and other peaceful programs demanding an immediate release of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik from illegal and revengeful custody of India, removal of the arbitrary Ban on JKLF by Indian state and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. Continuing with the campaign, JKLF diplomatic bureau led by its head Professor Raja Zafar Khan yesterday held a long meeting with British foreign and commonwealth office at London. JKLF leaders Liaqat A lone, General Secretary JKLF UK Zone, and senior leader Mehmood Hussain sahib were also part of this delegation. A frank discussion regarding the dispute on Jammu Kashmir, human rights abuses by Indian state, illegal detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik at Tihar Jail Delhi, arbitrary ban by Indian government on JKLF and denial of right to self-determination to the people of Jammu Kashmir was held. JKLF delegation apprised FCO with the ground situation in Jammu Kashmir and unilateral use of violent aggression by Indian government against the people of Kashmir. Emphasizing on the need of immediate release of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and lifting the ban from JKLF, delegation asked FCO to play its role for ensuring a space on political activities and end to human rights abuses in Jammu Kashmir. The same JKLF delegation also held a fruitful meeting with the Chairperson All Party Parliamentary Groups on Kashmir (APPKG) Ms Debbie Abrahams. JKLF delegation apprised her about the situation in Indian Held Kashmir and asked the parliamentary group to use its good-offices to ensure an early release of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and lifting of unlawful ban on JKLF. Earlier another delegation comprising of JKLF leaders including Masoom Ansari, Nazim Bhatti and Liaqat A lone met with a member of European parliament Mr. Phillip Bennion and apprised him on the situation in Indian held Jammu Kashmir
Meanwhile a peaceful protest was held outside Indian high commission in Brussels Belgium. JKLF Leaders including Zahid Zaheer (Gen. Sec. JKLF EU Zone), Mushtaq Deevan (President Belgium JKLF), Sardar Naseem Iqbal, Shaibir Ahmed and others were present in the protest. Holding banners depicting slogans like “free Kashmir”, “Release Yasin Malik” “lift ban from JKLF” and “stop human rights abuses in Kashmir”, protesters asked international community to safeguard democratic and human rights of the people of Jammu Kashmir. This exemplary protest later on ended peacefully.
As part of the continuing protest campaign, JKLF UK zone has also prepared a vehicle decorated with photographs of incarcerated JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, JKLF and Azad Kashmir Flags and slogans like free Kashmir, Release Yasin Malik and lift ban from JKLF. This Vehicle has been roaming around the streets and roads of London and other cities of UK from last many days. The Vehicle was stationed and also kept moving around the cricket stadiums especially the Lords cricket ground during cricket world cup semi-finals and the final match. Thousands of people showed their positive response towards the peaceful campaign, lauded it and asked Indian Government to respect the human rights of the people of Jammu Kashmir. JKLF leaders including diplomatic bureau chief Professor Zafar Khan, JKLF president UK zone Syed Tehseen Geelani, Mehmood Hussain, Tariq Shareef, Javed Rashid, Mahmood Faiz, Iftikhar Sharif and many others took part in this vain protest campaign. s
Meanwhile JKLF has expressed its heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the wife of renowned Kashmiri poet Jenab Rahman Rahi. While praying for her heavenly abode, JKLF is also praying for the Sabr I jamil to her bereaved family.
