Srinagar, July 23: Srinagar recorded the maximum temperature of 33.1 degrees Celsius, Kashmir Weather, a local weather forecaster here said.
He said the city experienced the highest day temperature of this summer so far which was 5 degrees above season’s average.
He said Pahalgam health resort, which serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath yatra in south Kashmir, registered a maximum of 28.6 degrees Celsius which was 3 degrees above normal.
The famous ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a maximum of 22.2 degrees Celsius, he said.
Kokernag in south Kashmir recorded a high of 30.7 degrees Celsius, while the mercury in the nearby Qazigund settled at a high of 32.4 degrees Celsius.
He said the mercury in Kupwara, in north Kashmir, settled at a high of 33.0 degrees Celsius which was 3 degrees above season’s average.
Leh, in Ladakh region of the state, recorded a maximum of 28.2 degrees Celsius.
The Kashmir Weather has forecasted relief from 25th or 26th onwards.
