Srinagar, July 24: The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded the maximum temperature at 33.6 degrees Celsius which was 4 degress above normal said Kashmir Weather, a local weather forecaster.
He said Pahalgam health resort, in south Kashmir, registered a maximum of 29.8 degrees Celsius which was 4 degrees above season’s average.
The famous ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir witnessed pleasant weather conditions & recorded a maximum of 21.7 degrees Celsius, he said.
Kokernag in south Kashmir recorded a high of 31.2 degrees Celsius, while the mercury in the nearby Qazigund settled at a high of 33.0 degrees Celsius.
He said the mercury in Kupwara, in north Kashmir, settled at a high of 34.3 degrees Celsius which was highest in Kashmir division.
Leh, in Ladakh region of the state, recorded a maximum of 31.3 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Jammu settled at a high of 36.8 degress Celsius while as maximum temperatures in Banihal, Bhaderwah & Batote settled at 31.3, 28.7 & 32.0 degrees Celsius respectively.
Katra recorded a maximum of 32.7 degrees Celsius along with the 20.6mm of rains in last 24hrs.
As there was no relief from the scorching sun, Kashmir Weather has forecasted of rains in upcoming days.
There is possibility of light rain/thundershowers during next 24hrs. From 26th afternoon or evening onwards till 28th, moderate to heavy spells of rain are possible over many to most places of the state, he said.
He has also warned of flash floods over few places.
