ANANTNAG, JAN 31: District Leprosy Society, Anantnag today organized an awareness camp on Sparsh Leprosy at District Hospital, Anantnag today.
The CMO, Anantnag Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Shah, District Tuberculosis Control Officer, Dr. Syed Faheem Aalam, District Immunization Officer, Anantnag, Dr. Bilkees Bashir, & Assistant Professor dermatologist, Dr. Aarif educated the participants about signs, symptoms & preventive measures of the disease and urged for early treatment, if detected, for eradication of leprosy.
Stress was laid upon mobilize village and urban committees for the eradication of the diseases, the speakers said that the leprosy is curable at all stages and is not a communicable disease.
The camp was attended by ADMO, ISM, CDPOs & experts including field functionaries of health department and a sizable number of AASHA workers.
Later, an awareness camp on “NikshayDiwas” Direct Benefit Transfer(DBT)to end TB was held at District Hospital Anantnag in which District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Syed Faheem Aalam informed the participants about the signs and symptoms of TB.
