Army has put on alert: Army Commander
Srinagar, Feb 20, KNT: Indian Army have stepped up its vigil along the Line of control (LoC) following reports that militants were waiting to infiltrate, a report said on Thursday.
Report said that army has diverted more troops to the LoC, mostly from the counter-insurgency grid, to strengthen its vigil along the borderline that divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
“There are authentic reports of the militants’ concentration at the launching pads across the LoC, waiting to infiltrate anytime as the snow will start melting in the mountainous passes that serve as a deterrent during winters,” report said adding that militants try to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir during the first week of March.
Defense sources told Kashmir News Trust that army is taking no chance as the hard efforts have been put in to gain peace in Valley.
Report further said that Army have already put up fence, flood-lighting and sensors along the LoC to check infiltration. (KNT)
