Srinagar, March 19: The parents and relatives of the 153 students who arrived mostly from Bangladesh today created ruckus at Srinagar airport by not allowing the authorities to take them to the mandatory quarantine facilities.
Reports said authorties did this to keep the parents and relatives of these students at bay after they tried to enter the airport building where they were stationed before taking them to the quarantine facilities. The students inside the airport terminal also raised slogans against keeping them inside the airport terminal.
However the parents alleged that two students who belong to influential families were allowed to leave home without sending them to mandatory quarantine facility.
“Our children are hungry, they have not eaten anything while influential students have reached home”, a group of parents told KNS.
When KNS contacted Deputy Commissioner Budgam Tariq Hussian Ganie, who was monitoring the situation whole day he said, ” we did it for the safety of children and their families.”
