Jammu, March 16: DGP Prisons, V. K. Singh on Monday enquired about the helath of 198 detenues from Jammu and Kashmir who are lodged in six different jails of Utter Pradesh state.
DGP Prisons, V. K. Singh, visited Central Jail Naini, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh to enquire about the health of 16 detenues from J&K lodged there, an official handout issued here said.
“Superintendent Naini Jail-H. B. Singh, Medical Officer and other staff were present during the visit. DGP was informed that 14 out of the 16 detenues were having no health related issues while two were under treatment for some minor health issues”.
V. K. Singh was informed that the detenues are being allowed to meet their relatives besides are also ensured regular health check-up. In case(s) of health issues; the detenues are provided proper medication under supervision of Doctors, the handout said.
“At present, 198 detenues from J&K are lodged in six jails of Uttar Pradesh. V.K. Singh appreciated the efforts of UP jail authorities to enable mulakat & for providing proper health care to the detenues in need”.
Earlier this year, DGP Prisons, J&K visited Uttar Pradesh Prison Headquarter, Central Jail Varanasi and District Jail Lucknow.
