Srinagar, 31 March: Lashing out at vested interests for trying to give communal colour to Nizamuddin Covid-19 cases, Awami Itehad Party condemned such attempts to diabolise a human tragedy. Nizamuddin Markaz has been for about a hundred years headquarters for Tablighi Jamaat in India. It is know far and wide how the events for the Jamaat are planned well in advance since it witnesses large participation of people even for foreign nations as well. When a nationwide lockdown was announced by the Government of the day, thousands of people were already present in Nizamuddin. In view of the lockdown the Jamaat authorities had time and again asked Delhi Government for vehicle passed and apprised them about presence of large number of people in Banglewali Mosque. Jamaat authorities were only following Government orders that clearly stated that no person should defy lockdown or try to move out of the places where they are. Hence in view of prevailing situation, at what fault are the Jamaat officials for complying with the authorities at every step? People across the world must understand such religious congregations are planned months in advance and should not be misrepresented by media or any other socio-religious or political organisation.Further more it is in public domain how at every juncture Jamaat officials have apprised, informed and complied with the authorities. Even the medical teams that visited Nizamuddin recently received all cooperation for testing people by Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat authorities. When all the facts amply point out how Tablighi Jamaat authorities are no where at fault, one fails to understand how people have reached the conclusions of accusing and demonising one community for Covid-19 cases in Nizamuddin. It is a repugnant, abominable attempt to demonise a particular community. It is shamefully shocking how even at a time when entire world is trying to put up a collective fight against Covid-19, some people are still at work trying to communalise just anything and everything said party Spokesperson Sheeban Ashai. Awami Itehad Party vehemently denounced and condemned such vilifying attempts to portray a particular community in bad light. The party also urged people at large and media fraternity in particular to check the facts scrupulously before widely reporting such events.
