Kitchen open, food will be provided to attendants, patients one by one, says GMC Principal
Srinagar, Mar 20 (KNO): Patients and attendants at GMC Hospital and Maternity and Child care Hospital in Anantnag are facing of lot of problems after Municipal committee Anantnag sealed canteens of these hospitals.
As per Kashmir News Observer (KNO), patients and attendants alleged that move was against them as they are not able to get food for themselves. “Entire Kashmir is shut and we are not able to get food for ourselves and now the authorities have closed the canteens too,” said an attendant at Maternity hospital, Anantnag.
Another attend said that their family members were bringing food every day to the hospital , but since public transport was closed and restrictions were imposed, they were unable to bring food here, now authorities have decided to seal canteen, where from they get the food.
Pertinently, chairman Municipal committee Anantnag, Hilal Ahmad Shah said that six hotels and restaurants were sealed in the in Anantnag district. “Besides that two Hospital canteens were sealed as precautionary measure after reports surface that people in large number assemble there,” he said.
Principal Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag Dr showat Geelani told KNO said that canteens have sealed as a precautionary measure but kitchens are functioning normally. “Food will provided to all attendants, patients and staff one by one so that people will do not gather there,” he added
