Ganderbal, Mar 29:  Amid increasing number of COVID-19 positive patients, Doctors and paramedics in Kashmir are facing tough times to treat coronavirus patients in absence of safety gears. Their families and neighbours also prefer to stay away from them fearing they might get infected.

Sources told Kashmir News Service that the doctors and paramedics of primary health centers in Block Kangan of Ganderbal district are not provided with sufficient stock of masks and other equipments.

“how can we treat a patient in this scare situation without having personal protective equipments,” a doctor on condition of anonymity said.

He further said that even N95 masks and sanitizers are not available being mandatory in present circumstances.

Chief Medical Officer, Ganderbal Dr masrat told Kashmir News Service KNS that we are regularly providing our staff with safety equipments including masks, gloves etc.

She said that if there is problem anywhere in any hospital of Ganderbal district, they should send requisition.

“tell them to send requisition and we’ll provide them kits accordingly,” CMO said.

Replying to a question, She said that we have two ventilators available including portable one.

“we have funds available now and we are going to purchase more ventilators,” she added.

CMO further said that we are have closed OPD and IPD facilities in district hospital Ganderbal but we are going to keep a doctor available at Well Care center Saloora for emergency OPD.
