Govt’s transfer policy goes for a toss in PMGSY

CE assures action after verifying facts

Srinagar, Mar 17: Authorities in Pradhan Mantri Grham Sadak Yojana have failed to transfer corrupt clerk and draftsman for the last 15 years.

Sources within the department told Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) that a draftsman Ab Rehman working in office of superintendent Engineer PMGSY and a clerk in Tender Section and Firdous Ahmad have been working here from last 15 years but authorities aren’t transferring them as they mint money and give share to their bosses.

They added that for a minor work both employees take bribe in thousands and give share to their bosses in order to stop their transfer order.

As per circular authorities have to transfer an employee after every two years but only these two employees have been transferred from last 15 years.

Sources also added that higher ups are hand in glow with these corrupt employees and are not transferring them.

General public is suffering a lot due to these corrupt officials, they said, adding that both have earned money in crores from last 15 years.

When contacted chief engineer PMGSY Kashmir, Showkat Jeelani feigned ignorance over the issue. However, he ensured appropriate action into the atter after verifying facts.

“I will look into the matter and take appropriate action,” he added. (PTK)
