TRAL, MARCH 14: An extensive Market Check and Inspection was carried out in main town Tral Market today. Drug Control Department, Food Safety Department, Metrological Department, FCS & CA Department and Municipal Committee Tral jointly conducted the inspection.
Various Medical Shopkeepers and Drug Outlets were found with stocks of expired and sporious drugs besides number of drugs without rates inscribed on the packs. A wholesale drug dealer was found without proper lisence. Seven medical outlets including the wholesale drug dealer were sealed on spot.
Small tea stall owners, restuarant owners, butchers, fruit and vegetable sellers were found violating the acts and other prescribed instructions. Some of them were found using Domestic Cylinders and some found selling low quality food. A fine of more than Rs. 28,000/= was realised from erring shopkeepers and vendors.
ADC Tral directed the officers from concerned departments to atleast conduct two inspections in a week in order to maintain quality supplies of essential commodties and emrgency items. He impressed upon the officers to assure sales of fresh fruits, vegetable and mutton in the markets.
It was directed upon the officers to crackdown on the suppliers of polythene carry bags to retail shopkeeprs to make the entire Tral polythene free. MC Tral was directed to keep a close watch on the mischevious people who are responsible for dumping garbage and filth on roadsides and public places. Officers assured ADC Tral that necessary steps would be taken to ensure quality supplies of drugs and essential commodities on reasonable rates.
