Srinagar, Mar 4: Parents of scores of Kashmiri students who study at in different cities of Iran, that is in the grip of deadly Coronavirus Wednesday appealed Government of India to facilitate the return of Kashmiris stranded in coronavirus-hit Iran.
Scores of students assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar and expressed concern over the stay of their wards in Iran. “My daughter is studying in Sheeraz University and we are not in touch with her. The ban on social media in Kashmir has added to our hardships. There is no problem from the Iran government but it is government of India that is reluctant to facilitate the entry of these students in India,” said Muhammad Qasim to Kashmir News Trust.
“We pleaded strongly with the External Affairs Minister that it is a worrisome situation for Kashmir from where many people have travelled to Iran for studies and other pursuits and requested him to ensure that these students should travel back to their families,” they said.
The parents said that they emphasized that the Ministry should ask the India”s Ambassador in Tehran to get facts about Kashmiri students and facilitate their travel back home or as the circumstances warrant.
