Police files case against 16 persons for violating govt orders

Pulwama, March 23: Police have filed a case against 16 persons for violating government directive in Shopian district of south Kashmir.

The police action followed an order by district administration, calling for registration of the FIR against violators.

Confirming the registering of the case, a police officer told GNS that the FIR (35/2020 under 188, 269 and 271 IPC has been lodged in police station Shopian against the people who violated government orders in Shopian town on Sunday.

Similarly, an FIR (8/2020 under section 188 IPC was registered in police station Keller against the violators, he said. “The two separate cases were registered against 16 persons for violating the orders”.

Government has issued slew of directions including the restricting the assembly of people in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir where four positive cases, one in Kashmir and three in Jammu had been reported so far.
