‘Sanitation drive to continue’
Srinagar, Mar 11: In continuation with its special sanitation drive being conducted across Srinagar city, Srinagar Municipal Corporation Wednesday conducted an extensive sanitation drive in city centre Lal Chowk and allied areas.
This drive was launched on the directions of Commissioner SMC Ghazanfar Ali and was personally monitored by Ward Officer of Ward 2-Lal Chowk.
“Dozens of sanitary workers were put to task who thoroughly cleaned up these areas and cleared all the identified bad spots including the park located in the middle of Lal Chowk,” said an official to KNT.
Besides cleaning and washing of footpaths all the unwanted matter was removed from the roads.
“Commissioner SMC has passed on directions to take up the extensive sanitation drives in different areas of the city constantly as per requirement in addition to the routine sanitation,” the official added.
He further said that entire city has to look neat and clean and there should be no bad spots or garbage seen on road sides.
