Kupwara, March 23: SSP Kupwara, Shriram Ambarkar on Monday appealed people to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies and follow the shutdown in letter and spirit till March 31.
While addressing media, SSP said that the government has ordered the closure of all establishments and services throughout Kashmir till March 31 in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the Valley. There would be a shutdown of all establishments and services except essential commodities.
“People seem to have no awareness about the lockdown and thus are not taking it seriously,” SSP said, adding, “our common cause is to fight against the coronavirus which is going on. The fight against the disease is not possible until the cooperation of society.”
He stressed upon the self-discipline and asked for self-restraint. He urged people to stay at their respective homes in order to get rid of this disease. He urged people to provide cooperation to the staff associated with the essential service department or police personnel.
He urged people not to venture out except in emergency purposes. He said that people should avoid social gatherings. “Violators will be dealt with strictly as per the relevant section of the law.”
SSP urged people to adopt advisories issued by Health Department to stay safe and to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. The public shall cooperate with the administration and follow the directions of government in exact compliance, he added.
